Chakra is on a mission to organize the world’s structured data. We aim to empower enterprises and consumers alike to consume & share their data with a solution that is cost effective, performant, and provides rich royalties through data provenance.

• 🚢 Ship quickly, ship incrementally, ship often. At a start-up you are either building or selling at all times. Both founders are coding or selling at all times. There’s room for fun (more on this later), but we explicitly value “doers” who get stuff done.
• 🙏 Low ego. We won’t know all the right answers and neither will you. That’s okay! Our approach every day is to learn, and we will mentor and nurture you along the way. But being coachable and taking feedback is a critical trait for encouraging this growth.
• 🤗 Here for a long time and a good time. Chakra is on an ambitious mission - to build a web3 data warehouse product with broad web2 appeal. We expect it will affect enterprises, consumers, and broad data markets. It’s going to take time, so we want to make sure we’re having fun while we do it. Burn-out happens when you work hard, but you don’t enjoy what you’re doing or who you’re doing it with. We want you to bring positive energy and have fun.

Why you shouldn’t work with us

• This is our life’s work. We have fun, but we work hard. If you want to clock a 9-5, this probably isn’t a great fit.
• There’s no clear playbook for success. Data and AI are constantly shifting. Adding in a decentralized component - we are constantly learning and shifting. While we have a clear mission and vision, if you’re uncomfortable with ambiguity this role will be challenging for you.

About You

• You are user obsessed and love the small details. Hover shadows. Gradients. Getting the perfect margins and padding in components.
• You don’t have to know these front-end technologies, but they don’t terrify you:
  • Next.js, Typescript, Tailwind
  • ShadCN
  • Prisma
  • WalletConnect
• You love front-end, but you’re comfortable thinking about the bigger picture. Making back-end changes. Spinning up a database. Playing with AWS to ensure a secure deployment. You don’t need to be a subject matter experience here, but you are not easily intimidated.
• Experience: we don’t believe in hard and fast rules here. Roughly 3-5 years of experience is what we’re looking for, but more or less experience works as long as the above expectations resonate with you.
